Roof Cleaners Plus LLC is a locally owned and operated company in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was established in 2004 as Cincinnati Shingle Shine. The name change came in late 2008 due to the added services we now provide: House Washing, Gutter Cleaning & Protection, Cement & Brick Cleaning, Pressure Washing, Deck Cleaning & Staining, Tree Removal and Yard Waste Removal. Evan Wood is a firefighter with the City of Cincinnati and has been stationed at Engine 5 in Over-The-Rhine for over 9 years. Engine 5 continues to be one of the busiest fire companies in the entire region and was THE busiest firehouse in North America in the late 1980's and early 1990's beating out FDNY, Chicago and LA firehouses for the overall number of runs for one fire company. Evan will celebrate his 20th Wedding Anniversary in the summer of 2010 with his wife and two teenage children. The favorite family hobby is snowboarding out west. Evan experienced the thrill of climbing The Grand Teton of Wyoming in 2007 and has plans on taking his daughter mountain climbing for her senior trip - if she can overcome her minor fear of heights! Both children have been very active in select soccer and have travelled all over the region for their select teams. Watching them play as been a joy for both parents.
Shingle Shine started in 2004 working out of a pickup truck. Roof Cleaners Plus required the company to move up to a full size work van and trailer to carry all the tools and equipment that is needed for our additional services. In 2010, we purchased a 16' Box-Truck to haul all the needed ladders, tools, chemicals, equipment, hoses, pumps and pressure washers that would be needed for any job - large or small. When Roof Cleaners Plus shows up to clean your house, your neighbors will see a professional vehicle and a properly dressed (but possibly dirty from the previous job) crew.
Our main crew leader, Doug, has over 10 years working on roofs. He does his job very well. Doug knows how to perform repairs and how to replace entire roofs. Shingles that are missing or torn can be replaced the day of the cleaning. Doug can use leftover shingles from when the roof was installed or a similar colored shingle can be purchased (Note - neither will be a perfect match as the current shingles fade over time from rain and UV exposure, but this is better than leaving the roof exposed to water damage). If a roof is not properly vented, the heat buildup not only increases your energy bills by causing your A/C to run longer to cool the top floor, but it also causes your shingles to fail sooner than they should. Doug can install ridge, box and power roof vents if requested. Also, if you have chimney mortar that has minor cracks, Doug can repair that as well to prevent further deterioration of the joints.
